January 2026

  • Jan 5 — The BISP Chairperson visited the Tehsil Office Aram Bagh and the Dynamic Registry Center in Karachi. She listened to beneficiaries. She directed them to obtain the free SIM for the Social Protection Wallet at the earliest (PR 1).
  • Jan 6 — 45th MCMC officers of NIPA Peshawar visited BISP headquarters for field research (PR 2).
  • Jan 7 — The Chairperson visited the Sindh Social Protection Authority office. She met Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani (PR 3).
  • Jan 7 — 136 Probationary Officers from the 53rd Common Training Programme visited BISP headquarters (PR 4).
  • Jan 8 — The Chairperson visited Town Municipal Corporation Sohrab Goth in Karachi. She met Chairman TMC Lala Rahim and MNA Shahida Rehmani (PR 5).
  • Jan 12 — The Chairperson visited Lyari. She held a meeting at Baloch Hall with Senator Yousaf Baloch, MPA Sadia Javed and other dignitaries (PR 6).
  • Jan 14 — A Nutrition Stabilization Center was inaugurated in Swabi in collaboration with the World Health Organization (PR 7).
  • Jan 21 — The Chairperson met Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah (PR 8).
  • Jan 22 — A live e-Katcheri session was held at BISP headquarters (PR 9).
  • Jan 24 — The Chairperson attended the Platinum Jubilee ceremony of Forward System of Education in Peshawar as chief guest (PR 10).

  • Feb 10 — The Chairperson met a PPP Women Wing delegation from District Kurram. They discussed skills training and employment under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme (PR 15).
  • Feb 12 — The BISP pilot (SOPRAN) strengthened anemia prevention and nutrition awareness among adolescent girls (PR 16).
  • Feb 18 — The Chairperson announced major relief for BISP beneficiary women for the holy month of Ramadan (PR 17).
  • Feb 19 — A Benazir Nashonuma Facilitation Center was inaugurated at Maulvi Amir Shah Memorial Hospital, Peshawar (PR 18).

  • Apr 28 — BISP announced it would strengthen immunization coverage through integration with the National Electronic Immunization Registry (NEIR) (PR 33).
  • Apr 28 — The Chairperson met a delegation led by the founder of the Federal Youth Parliament Pakistan (PR 34).

May 2026

The big BISP news 2026 themes

Looking at the year as a whole, a few themes stand out in the official announcements:

  • Digital wallet payments. Multiple releases (PR 41, 42, 43, 45, 50, 51, 54, 58-62) focused on a new payment system and digital wallets.
